Hello Fam & Friends,
Allow me to introduce the talented
Msanii, a young, highly gifted Musicman Extraordinaire based in the Metro Area. He is fast becoming a force to reckon with in the art of creating quality digital music mixes and remixes that transcend cultural and national boundaries.
His latest work,
Episode 3 (listen @:
http://odeo.com/channel/80404/playlist.m3u), is pure testimony of the many long nights Msanii spends researching, sampling and craftly piecing together a wide variety of music genres into a balanced, flowing and well-blended music extravaganza that showcases some of the best signed and unsigned HipHop artistes from as diverse nations as: The USA, Kenya, France, Tanzania, South Africa, Zimbabwe and Ghana among others.
Msanii's Episode 3 (complete tracklist available below)is also a tribute to
David Munyakei, the former Central Bank of Kenya employee who exposed the Goldenberg scandal whose economic and political repercussions are still being felt in the Eastern Africa region.
A tribute to
J Dilla (born James Yancey, who recently died of Lupus), one of the music industry's most influential hip-hop producer-artists, who has produced for established acts like De La Soul, Busta Rhymes, Common, Detroit's Slum Village and A Tribe Called Quest just to name a few. RIP J Dilla.
Apart from creating party-ready & car stereo adapted music mixes, Msanii is also the brains behind
BNTS (
www.beneathdasurface.com) the fast-growing online music magazine that is a mouthpiece for many hardworking, musically gifted artists from around the world. Some recently featured musicians include Ukoo Flani(Kenya), Blitz (Ghana/USA), Nas (US), Shida Mingi (Kenya/USA), Lebo Mashile( S.Africa), FidQ(Tanzania), Wawesh(Kenya), Common(USA), DKR(Zimbabwe), Knaan(Somalia/USA), just to name a few.
